Big Community Switch

Hi all!
I've just had my quote from the Big Community Switch programme and for the first time it is quite a bit cheaper than my existing tariff with Octopus. The unit rates and standing charges are cheaper for both fuels and seem very competitive when I search tariffs for other providers. The new tariff on offer is with British Gas who I'm not particularly keen on but they are at least well established.
Now onto my question, does anyone on this forum have any recent experience with the Big Community Switch?  I can't find anything recent about them and previous, very old reviews don't seem very positive.  I'm tempted to go for the Switch with them and can't see a downside but reviews from a few years ago are less than complimentary and a little off putting.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance.

I always found them a waste of time.  If they did come up with anything sensible it would probably be with companies such as EDF or British Gas whose customer service is so dire that I wouldn't be interested.
  • I would like to share an issue re the new Money Saving Octopus fuel deal from the Big Energy Switch. Since we were already customers, I assumed this would be a simple swap, but it would seem that either there is a glitch with Octopus’s code, or we have been extremely unlucky!

    So far:

    Emails: 12

    Calls: 3

    Bills: 4

    Line item recalculations: 100s

    All since 1st October!
So much so I have gone from +£300 before new tariff was applied, to ~- £2000! Currently sitting at a more modest -£200 (The correct figure being closer to +£500).

I would like to warn all other followers who may have taken this new tariff and experienced similar issues, or if they haven’t to double check their bills from end of September onwards.

Perhaps @MartinSLewis could have a word with @Octopus to see what’s going on?
