Purchase of Freehold

Hello, I have purchased the freehold on my property. Everything has all been sorted from the landlord side and I have just sent of my application (I sent the ID in previously).
Just had an email saying they estimate completion by 03 September 2026!!!
Is this for real? 11 months to update this? Obviously I know nothing about what is involved but is this just the worst case or is this how long it takes to update this? I mean there are absolutely no issues, they wanted to sell it, I said OK, I paid all the money and they completed all the stuff.
I know of the expedition service but it looks like very few scenarios to expedite this, so probably not going to be eligible.

Are you talking about the time it will take Land Registry to register you as the owner of the freehold? If so, that's outside the control of the seller.
Is it a problem for you that the application will take 11 months? As you suggest, if you want to sell the property, you can get the application expedited.1
