Hi there
I an on contributions based esa and a priviate pension.
Can i seek compensation for an accident that happened to me? I used a ramp for my wheel chair and I was clipped by the ramp. It threw me off and I broke me arm. Am I allowed to seek compensation? Im scared because of benifits but im on no income related benifits AT all. Just a declare pension.

Whether you can claim compensation will be down to exactly what happened.
Was the ramp faulty?
How did it clip you and throw you off, is it electrical?
One of the benefits experts will be able to advise if any compensation payment will affect your benefits.0 -
Contributions based ESA is not affected by money, savings and investments. So accident compensation would not affect your ESA claim.
Suggest speaking to Solicitors who deal with personal accident claims on a no win no fee basis. They will want to understand what evidence you have obtained.
If you have Home Insurance including legal expenses, see if they would help with making a claim against whoever was responsible for the ramp. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.1 -
Thank you so much for your advise. Im so sad that it happened. I'm speaking to someone about it just now.0
