Extension / extra room

Im thinking of applying for a DFG as we are struggling with a lack of space. I have 2 reception rooms, one of which my disabled mother lives in.
The problem we have is a child with severe disabilities who needs his own space and we are struggling to function in one room. Will I be told to ask my mother to move out or is it worth applying?

No you won't, she is part of your household. Definitely apply they can only say no. Nothing lost from tryingbooandboo said:Im thinking of applying for a DFG as we are struggling with a lack of space. I have 2 reception rooms, one of which my disabled mother lives in.

You will need to think about in advance, what the extra room would actually be used for, as no doubt they will want details, rather than just a more general 'we need more space' .

Thankyou yes its another room for Child 1 to sit in as child 2 is too loud and screams, bangs, has rages, their disability means they cannot regulate their behaviour and its stressful for child 11
