Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's another of life's mysteries where lost posts disappear to!
It's dry here for now at least but a chance of thunderstorms later. Yesterday the heavy rain started at lunchtime just as they predicted. It seems we are now stuck with it on and off for the rest of the week.
Nothing of excitement is on the agenda for today and I doubt that will change. But there are always plenty of jobs if I cba. Gosh we are dropping like flies on here just now, mostly Covid which seems to be a particularly nasty strain this time. I hope everyone soon feels better. Take care all, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning everyone
It poured with rain from about teatime yesterday but it's dry now and looks like the sun might come out.
I've done an econsult this morning so hopefully will hear from someone medical or be given a prescription...felt a bit daft saying I have a sore tongue.
Just this week at work and then it's half term, I'm shattered before the week starts.
Derek...have a hug x
I had a nice chat with little one yesterday, hopefully she'll be back at school this morning. She really wants to be well enough to do the sponsored walk tomorrow and go to the Halloween party after school on Wednesday.
Silver oldie - I meant to say the other day I've heard of people making memory cushions, would be easier than a teddy x
Right, best get moving...hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Morning All
Damp and dreary this morning with a bit of mist thrown in but not raining for now although it did rain all day yesterday.
I think it's the builder's last day today so have bought them both a bottle of something they like and paid my bill. Whether all their hard work works or not remains to be seen but at least they've tried. They are just putting back some of the shelves and putting back the freezer, cupboard, WM and TD. They're really good chaps and keep checking up on me!
Hope you and the family are feeling better today Ruby.
A memory cushion sounds like an easier option SO, perhaps you could do a bear once you've worked out what you're doing.
Enjoy the exercise class Gers.
Hope the docs get back to you soon dp1 and the little one manages at school.
Well done on finishing the painting Derek, sorry you and your friend have parted ways.
Seems strange not going back to work but to be quite honest I'm not fit and certainly not sleeping although my appetite has returned a little for now.
Hope you can all have a good day, take care. XX

Morning all, it's very dull here but at least dry atm. I got soaked yesterday afternoon with Ldog. He was very stubborn today on the am. walk - stopping and refusing to move. We heard a few fireworks last night & I think it's un-nerved him, and today there were leaf blowers around the park, also some heavy machinery near the roadThe beef was nice last night, enough left for another meal, whether that's for tonight or to freeze I'll decide later. We had a quick trip to Tes*o yesterday afternoon, needed a bottle of wine for DBs birthday this week. They had the 25% deal on so naturally DH succumbedDerek, sorry to hear that your friend has ended things, hugsDP1 hope dgd gets back to school.DGS has a school football match so it's a later finish but not sure if DS2 is going for him yet or not.Time to get cosy for autumn, we have had the heating come on in the morning but the timer needs altering really. We haven't been getting up as early with DH not being at work.Have a good day all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Lots of rain overnight so very damp when i bought the rubbish bin back in.

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
No plans today - some ironing to do and a Bay of E parcel to drop off. Will wait until the hideous rain stops! I woke early - have the start of a cold and a sore back - think I’ve pulled a muscle. It really hurts to breathe/sneeze - lord knows what I’ve done to it.
Sorry to hear your friend has ended things @mehefin. Have a hug from me x
You’ve been industrious @AlwaysAllie and @-taff. I love a good sort out.Hugs to all our poorlies - get better soon.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 20/25 Currently reading Finding Hildasaay by Christian Lewis10 -
Morning all, thanks to @Scarlet for starting us off. Yesterday's rain wasn't as heavy as forecast but, once it started around 1 pm, it was certainly persistent. My curtains were closed before 5 pm. It's a similar day today, misty with wetness of varying degrees all day - take your pick from drizzle, light rain, heavy rain.
Well, aren't we a bonny bunch with all our various ailments! The most I could manage yesterday was to book a grocery delivery slot for today and that felt like wading through treacle. "Proper" meals didn't happen, just picking at bits and pieces as and when I fancied. For most of the day I was laid on the sofa either watching TV (don't ask me what I watched though) or dozing off, followed by an early bedtime and a good night's sleep with just one loo break. My DM always used to say sleep is a good healer. The earache is still there but at least I feel a bit more like "me" today and the only thing on the agenda is to put away the groceries when they arrive. Anything after that will be a bonus.
@mehefin - Well done on getting the house painting done, you deserve a medal! Sorry to hear about your friend's decision, I hope you can remain just friends.
@Rosy - I've had to alter my heating timer too, nice and cosy now.
@camelot - Fingers crossed your builders have done a good job, you'll be glad to have order restored!
Take care all, healing wishes and hugs where they're needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all
I feel worse than yesterday 🤢🤢 I thought it might be on the way out but it’s hit me with a vengeance today, dd feels a little better but OH and I feel worse, I think this is my 4th time having covid and is definitely the worse, so another day of sloth for me, I am currently shivering with cold and will then get so hot I have to strip down a bit.
Mehefin I am sorry to hear you have been dumped, it’s happened to all of us at one time but it sounds like a first for you, sending hugs xx
Camelot I hope you feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Must have posted at the same time this morning so I missed Derek's news.
Sorry to hear that your new friend has ended things. It's hard to take at any age. Sending you some virtual hugs xx8 -
Afternoon
After a wet Sunday today is dry and mild. I'm not posting much as I'm having trouble, I think it was TA who said about the zoomies and how difficult it is.
Washing done, steak pie and chips for tea.
Derek, sorry to see your news, sending hugs.
Ruby, hope you all get better soon.
Oh, and DD is still having problems with her SiL about the funeral arrangements, more about that another time.
Enjoy the rest of the day, take care.7
