Best Humidifier for basement – Need Honest Advice

Hi everyone
A few years ago I bought a humidifier but unfortunately it is not working well anymore. I even had a couple of mechanics check it but it never returned to proper performance. So now I am planning to buy a new humidifier and I want to make a better choice this time.

I will mainly be using it in my basement so I need something that is good quality reliable and reasonably priced. Could anyone recommend a humidifier that works well in such spaces?

Also I would really appreciate tips on how to take care of a humidifier so it lasts longer and does not end up breaking down like my old one.

After some research I have two options in mind which are popular online and also have many reviews on Consumer Reports,The Spruce,Home Depot

I care most about quiet operation ease of cleaning and how well it humidifies the room. If anyone here has used either of these please share your honest experience. It will really help me decide before buying.

Thanks a lot.

Do you leave it running 24/7 ?

What is your definition of reasonably priced? Your links are not working

When you say it’s not working well, what does that mean? what’s the reason that you think you need a humidifier?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

@zoee1 can I ask where you are based? Your links are for Amazon dot com rather than UK and in USD. If you are located in America you may get a better response on a US based forum.

Mostly questions are about reducing moisture levels, not increasing moisture levels - especially in a basement.  Why do you want to increase the humidity?
