Good morning, thanks Gers.
Still dark, but it's dry.
We had a visit from ds
and dil yesterday, I'd asked ds if he'd take us to the garden centre for some compost and winter planting. We went out for lunch beforehand, just locally, it was nice.
Bought everything we needed at the garden centre, so we'll make a start today.
Meant to say welcome Teapartymum, nice to meet you.
Everyone seems busy at the moment, you'll be glad to get that painting finished Mehefin.
Not much going on here today apart from plant stuff.
Thinking of the poorly people, hope you soon feel better.
Take care folks.13 -
A proper good morning! It's so gloomy outside, low cloud and rain. Not conducive to leaping out of bed just yet.My vaccination yesterday was swift and painless. The pharmacist said that she's had about 30 people coming in for it and was surprised at the uptake. After it I went up to the big town to post off two parcels, I avoided doing any shopping apart from a packet of Jason's bread, even that has gone up by £0.15.A very patient and helpful agent from Lloyd's banking group didn't know why the calls weren't coming through to my new phone, her resolution was to refresh my number on the system which worked. 😁 The chap from First Direct was even more patient as their systems and processes are more complicated. All done now apart from one organisation which I'll tackle tomorrow
My Sunday is open, the band of rain is meant to move slowly eastward so I may get out in the afternoon. Perhaps the weather isn't so rubbish in other places so others can enjoy their day. Hugs to all, a wee gentle one to DP1's little one.13 -
The forecast heavy rain hasn’t yet arrived here though it looks close. I’ve been bleaching/steaming the kitchen floor tiles and grout in sections so I’ll do more of that. While I had the steamer out yesterday I cleaned the oven and shelves- no idea why I’ve never used the
steamer before, it worked really well and no chemicals.A trip into the loft is planned today as well - need some craft stall display things down plus I’m sure there is some stuff and boxes that can be got rid off and I have charity shop and tip slots booked in the week so an ideal opportunity for a bit of a declutter.Best wishes to all the poorlies - seems to be a lot of Covid around so hope everyone stays safe and well.AA14 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Grr another sleepless night for me but we'll say no more about that. It's getting a pain. The rain hasn't got here yet but it's forecast for later. Otherwise it's a dull and miserable start.
I've been showered, fed and watered and contemplating a day of sloth.. The dw has been emptied (from last night!) and wm chugging away doing a white wash. That will go upstairs on the airer when it's done. Cottage pie from the freezer defrosting for lunch but still the veg to do.
Unlike COXY I thoroughly enjoyed Strictly last night, the more couples the better as far as I am concerned! Every week I am almost tempted to look at the spoiler for who is going home but it would then spoil tonight's result show if I did!.
Have a good day folks if the rain permits it. ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Too many Covid cases on here so I hope it's a mild dose and soon passes. CAMELOT thinking of you and roll on Op Day. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all. Very dull here but the last dry day as rain is forecast for the rest of the week.
DH hasn't emerged yet, but I did take him up a cup of tea. We had a lovely day in Oxford yesterday; a walk around the city, snack lunch then a matinee concert of John Williams and Hans Zimmer film music (think ET, Superman, Star Wars). We finished with a super meal and got the bus back to the park and ride and the drive home only took us an hour and 2 minutes! Apparently it was Matriculation Day for all new students so the city was even busier then usual but it was lovely to see so many of them around in their official robes; lots of punting on the river whilst clutching bottles of booze
Today we will take it easy and plan to have a couple of meals from the freezer. I have one lot of washing started but that's about it.
I hope everyone else is ok and can enjoy their Sunday.12 -
Morning all from dull and damp Mehefinland
Yay I've finished the blooming painting ( well the major stuff and can put the ladders away. ) Bit of fiddly stuff to do - for some reason the previous painter did all the windowsills, door surrounds etc in a grey- it actually will look quite nice but its a job that can wait for a while. Back absolutely killing today - the last bit was under the lounge window and I had to battle the plants to get to it!!
Wombled a brand new fiver whilst walking to the field yesterday - just calmly tumbling along on the breeze. Not a soul in sight so no idea where it came from.
Dug out the big plastic dog bed ( which none of mine would ever use!) for my friend who is rescuing an elderly GSD !!!!!! from Spain. She arrives in November and as usual there is a sad tale behind the story. Elderly owner and elderly dog - you can guess the rest.
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning everyone,
@ScarletRibbons Thank you for the welcome !!
Not long woke up. !! DD works at our local hotel, she does the “functions” so that’s anything from weddings to charity events ,she was on a “finish” so that’s anytime from 11.30pm until 2.00am which all depends on what time the “functions” have the room/bar and then it’s the “tidy up”.It was gone 1am by the time DD got to the car and got home.. so once home, it’s bedtime for me !! Think it was nearly 2am when I switched my light off !!
DD went into town with friends !! Like HELLO it’s bedtime 🤦😂
Not got much planned for today so it’s going to be a “potter around the house day “
I hope everyone has a good day xxTrying to change my life and will:money:12 -
Morning everyone it’s a grey miserable day rain forecast later I enjoyed my catch up with my friend yesterday but we asked the girl in the cafe to turn the music down we felt like proper old grumps but I love music but it was at the stage where we were shouting over the top of it I couldn’t concentrate she turned it down slightly and begrudgingly I won’t be going there again I came home and took two paracetamol my head was throbbing. DP1 I hope the little one is improving she will be so looking forward to doing all the Halloween things at school. AA you have just reminded me I have a hand held steamer somewhere I had forgotten about I will be on a mission to find it now . I’ve got a little beef joint in the oven I will do Yorkshire pudding and veg later otherwise than that not a lot happening I need to pop out for bread I will do that while out with the dog for a tootle about I will have to wake her up to go what a life. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all,we have a bit of blue sky atm but the clouds are moving in. Thanks Gers , glad the phone etc. is sorted. Dog fed, birds fed. Usual busy day yesterday with football. When we got back DH fancied fish and chips.Sadly the best one has shut now after the passing of the owner. He went to one on the main road, and the fish were very small, previously we used to share one they were so big.So the hunt is on for an alternative for our rare indulgence We had a nice tea- Italian meatballs from the butchers with a olive and rosemary foccacia. When we got back with DGS after school on Friday, we had a nice surprise as DGD walked in off the bus from school, we hadn't seen her for a while, and DGS was very glad to see his half sister. No real plans today but I'm doing the same meal as you @IzzyBee but in the slow cookerGlad you've finished your painting @mehefin! Lovely of your friend to rescue the GSD.Sounds a long night @Teaparty_mum@Camelot, good wishes for the op, hopefully not too long off now.Right, better find the dog harness - hope you all have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Dull and dreary here this morning too.
I had a quiet day yesterday, pottered about and did a few jobs and had a tidy in the garden. Nice lazy couple of hours reading too. Little one rang for a chat, she said she was feeling a little bit better, though DD is struggling to get her off her feet and back to eating.
This morning I'll go down to mam and dads then I need to pop for some milk. My sore mouth and tongue are driving me mad, I'll do an econsult in the morning.
Hope everyone has a good day...Mehefin well done finishing your painting x8
