Painting rollers

I use one of these and a running tap to get most of the paint out of the roller:

I then chuck the rollers in the washing machine - they come out like new!0 -
I clingfilm between coats, but otherwise bin roller sleeves and brushes once used - I also use disposable liners for my trays and Wooster paint kettle. They're so cheap to replace (I buy the big multipacks from Costco when offer), I don't want the time, effort and risk of making a mess of sinks around the house. (Yes its cheaper to clean, but but the saving on these consumables is negligible compared to the other costs I'm incurring after decorating - new carpets, furniture, lights, curtains, etc dwarf a few pounds on the roller sleeves and brushes). Only time I clean brushes is when I've only used for a small touch up job and they're not heavily loaded with paint.0

I agree it’s difficult to clean roller sleeves (although I’m going to try Stuart45’s spinner suggestion) but binning brushes is a big no no for me.
They’re so easy to clean and if you buy quality brushes they’re not cheap.
Also, I can’t bear the idea of all that stuff going to landfill.0 -
I am the same. I could not just throw a decent brush in the bin.bjorn_toby_wilde said:I agree it’s difficult to clean roller sleeves (although I’m going to try Stuart45’s spinner suggestion) but binning brushes is a big no no for me.

I know there is an environmental trade off between the water you have to use to clean them, and the fact that paint is going in the drains, but I think that is the better route.0 -
You have to wash a new roller anyway, so binning isn't that much of a timesaver.
Just need to make sure that you've rolled out as much paint as possible before rinsing.0
