Danfoss RAVL TRV Gland Seals Query

I have (antique !) Danfoss RAVL TRVs on my rads. The actual valves and heads work fine but the pins are a bit sticky so I have managed to get some 013U0070 gland seals. Now comes the problem. The pins on the old glands are long 2mm dia and slide inside the hole in the valve insert, the new glands have shorter 3mm pins. The instructions are unclear as to whether the 3mm gland is suitable to replace the 2mm item. It is just a picture instruction with no writing and shows removing the gland with a picture of 2mm and 3mm options then a picture of the replacement item box again showing 2mm and 3mm options with 2mm crossed out. Does that simply mean that the item in the box only comes in 3mm ? Danfoss literature state there are only 2 types of gland to satisfy the whole range and the 013U0070 is the correct one for the RAVL valve. The 3mm one seems to fit and there is movement when pushing the pin, I suspect it just sits against the shaft of the valve insert, but I obviously don't want to force it and damage the valve. Any of you out there "been there and done that" ?
TIA

Have you removed an old one yet? Could you compare - and photograph - them side by side, please?
I really don't know the answer, but obviously the length of the pin will be important. However, that will be overall length sticking up inside the head, so is there a chance the brass gland body is also part of the protruding length?
Or, perhaps they can be fitted - do they screw in correctly, and do they shut off the flow? - but you'll need to use newer heads along with them?
Have you drained down? If so, for the cost, perhaps get complete new TRVs?

I will have to compare them again, I think they are OK -  was more an anyone done it and could state either way question.  It is not the part of the pin that sticks out into the head it is the bit that goes inside the valve which is longer.  No need to drain down, the gland can be changed "wet", a plus point of Danfoss TRVs.  I decided to whip them all out yesterday, removed the pins and polished them up - some crust on the bit that never comes out of the gland - and applied a splodge of plumbers silicone grease on the inside.  Only took me an hour and a half to do 9 rads
