Britannia ANPR cameras recorded incorrect entry and exit times/dates

On 8th September 25 at 12:40pm I entered a Waitrose car park, did a 3 point turn and exited straight away. The next morning, 9th September 25 I did the same thing at 8:13am. According to Britannia’s ANPR I entered on 8th September at 12:40pm and didn’t leave until 9th September at 8:13am. They are trying to charge me £95 for overstaying!! Their cameras are clearly faulty and failed to record my entry and exit correctly. How can I contest this? I can’t prove I wasn’t there as I don’t have a dash cam or any cctv at my address.

Double dip. First port of call - the manager of Waitrose. Tell him/her of the absurdity of this charge. Get him/her to cancel. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Ok thanks, I’ll give that a try first. Never heard of double dip but if this is common enough to have a term for it that gives me hope!0

I'm wondering why you did went in 2 days in a row without actually stopping. I mean I would understand someone doing that when there's no way to see signs about parking but to do so twice is baffling.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. All double dips should result in an instant and lasting ban for the parking company, its employees, owners and directors from ever accessing, processing and using DVLA data again, Waitorse being prohibited from using ANPR cameras to issue parking charge notices and the manager of waitorse responsible for allowing ANPR onto the site(s) being held fully accountable and personally liable for the actions of his/her agentsFrom the Plain Language Commission:
