Afternoon all, a late one from me today as I've been out and about with DS. His DP is working all day and he'd been charged with the weekly SM shop so asked if I'd like to come along for a ride out. I bought a couple of things that I can cross off my list and then we went to a DIY store; he got what he needed and I bought a box of sugar soap that I use as a general cleaning solution for paintwork. We had some lunch at mine and I gave him half of the parkin I'd made to take home with him. After he left I read my meters and sent the readings in. Electricity usage is the same as last month, gas slightly up which I expected now the heating is on. Tea tonight is h/m chicken curry & rice. This morning's promised sunny intervals never materialised (surprise, surprise) so it's yet another gloomy day.
The tree surgeons were here for almost 6 hours yesterday - 6 hours of constant noise alternating between chain saws and their shredding machine!
Thank goodness it's only a once a year event. We moved here 42 years ago and the conifers were pretty big then so you can imagine how much they've grown in that time. I don't think whoever planted them realised just how big they'd get and, as they're quite close to the house (much too close really), I dread to think what damage might have been done to the foundations. The current occupants are now lumbered with them and no doubt paying a hefty bill to keep them in check.
Nothing else to tell so I'll wish everyone a good weekend, hugs where needed or wanted. Take care, busy or not as the case may be. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10
