Morning GERS and all to follow. Well the Sandman didn't stay long, after one good night's sleep I was back to a rubbish one last night. Bah. Once again a day of cloud, but dry weather, forecast for today. I've forgotten what sun looks like. Similarly rain but apparently that's due back tomorrow and sticking around for quite some time What's happened to the sunny and crisp Autumnal days of the past?
The excitement of today will be the SS at some point with DS but still awaiting a time. Once again a smallish list as still eating from the freezers when I can. So mostly f& v and dairy. I've just got some chicken out to transform into something tonight.
My hairdresser was in scissor happy mode yesterday and I feel scalped but hey ho it will soon grow I suppose. Other than that I did a bit of a half hearted clean around and then had a surprise phone call from one of my SILs (my Bob's youngest sister) I haven't spoken to her since the funeral of other SIL (her sister) this time last year. It was nice to have a good long catch up.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Sorry that you're still not sleeping so well @TA. It was a lovely autumn day here yesterday, one out of a month!I'm going to have to start having my shower at night again, it's too cold already for morning ones, I needed a good rub down with my towel, and also time for the winter duvet to come out of the cupboard. Overnight I turned on the electric blanket for a few minutes. As anticipated, my day was spent setting up my new phone. These days the transfer is so easy, back up old phone, put new one next to it and stuff just whizzes across. But, then it's about banking apps which all need reinstalling and activating and adding cards to the wallet. Two cards just wouldn't set up so I phoned the bank although I soon realised that deleting them and then adding them again would work.
The only outstanding problem is that verification telephone calls from the three Lloyds group didn't come through - every other organisation sent texts which worked smoothly. I'll need to phone later on. Overall I had a relatively peaceful and productive day. Whilst the many apps were downloading I took the time to make some simple soup and boiled eggs then made egg mayo - is it in the air?
This morning I have my COVID vaccination, still seething about it not being offered by NHS / NHS Scotland this year, however I am content to pay for it. Well, mostly content with grumbling edges! Then I will zip up to the big town to post off the old phone to my nephew's son and a wee parcel to my closest friend. She's rather keen on stationery so whenI saw a set of metallic highlighter pens in Glasgow I thought of her. The local PO here doesn't open on Saturdays so it's up to the T**co superstore I go.I have chicken in the fridge to eat and will also have a bowl of the soup as a starter. Much later I'll watch SCD in bed - it just goes on for so long. fHugs to all, and I hope that everyone has a good day. It's easy to fall into gloom as the darkness crawls into the day. Extra hugs to Camelot to keep her going - only 10 days to wait now.7 -
Morning all
Another one here who had a bad night including some troubling dreams that I can’t now really recall!
I got loads done yesterday and then donated blood and was tired for the rest of the evening. There’s more jobs and some soup making on the agenda today - have a new recipe for apple parsnip and ginger.dP1 - my sense of taste and smell have been ‘off’ for 18 months after a cold and Covid - they have improved albeit slowly although I now don’t really know if I can smell things fully or not. However somethings that I used to like do now taste awful - peanut butter for one, just taste like rancid oil to me. Hope you feel better soon
have a good weekend

Good morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Sounds like a productive day. I’ve given up on SCD as it goes on forever. They should cap it at 8 contestants!I’m off to London again today to meet ex-work colleagues from LBC (life before children). DH or DS2 will drop me to the station.
Have a good day everyone

Morning everyone I’m still debating weather to put the washer on or not there’s a few things in the basket not urgent but I think it has to rain the rest of the week it’s just grey and still here today .im making a bacon sandwich for when hubby gets in from playing golf and I picked up a couple of pizzas reduced to a pound in Lidl last week they are in the freezer I have taken one out for tonight before strictly and the other one will do for next week pizza isn’t really a favourite of mine but I get sick of cooking or more like I get sick of thinking of what to cook my friends always says if you counted up how many meals you cook in a lifetime you would never believe it . I’m meeting a girl I work with at the charity shop today for a coffee and a bit natter her hubby is going to a football match and mine no doubt will be sitting watching it so we decided we will have a bit of a meet up . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing4

Morning everyone
Dull start here though the sun is forecast to come out later, I hope so as I have washing to dry. Thanks for the sympathy for my lack of taste... I'll do an econsult on Monday in case it is, as Taff suggested, an infection of some sort...I'm just assuming it's to do with Covid. I tried to do one yesterday but the service was closed...at just after 9am!
DD managed to get an appointment for little one, he gave her antibiotics for suspected tonsilitis. Hopefully they'll do the trick and she'll get back to school next week. Little one is hoping so as they have a Halloween party and a sponsored walk.
I had a nice chat with eldest DD in Germany before I got up, she has plans to go to a new gym in Munich tomorrow.
Camelot I'm pleased you're sorted with an appointment now.
Right I'd best get on. I seem to have lots of fiddly little jobs to do over the weekend...including mending a little hole in a skeleton costume I got for little one from one of our charity shops.
Hope everyone has a good day x5 -
Good morning all from yet another dull and coldish day in Mehefinland
Managed to 'nearly' complete the back wall painting yesterday!!! Yay!! Just a few bits to finish off after I have shifted a pile of stuff to reach it. 2 hours is quite enough of stippling - my back is giving me some discomfort and my wrist is quietly moaning too!! Need to try to finish it today before the weather breaks.
Boiler man failed to turn up yesterday - turns out he got caught up trying to fix a gas leak in a previous call so I let him offIt's not an earthshattering thing, just glad it wasn't me with the leak! Will reschedule. This chap only deals with Ariston boilers and is the expert in the area, so I don't mind waiting a bit longer.
Went to another cafe concert at Atlantic College yesterday - a very different one this time - the students are getting their collective feet under the table! A brass ensemble, a string ensemble and a small choir , alongside the usual solo stuff. One young lady played a Bach piece on her violin and unfortunately kept going wrong - but the smile on the face as she acknowledged her mistake, and the fact she kept going was brilliant. So many talented young people!
Supposed to be going to put up poppies on lampposts later - that time of year seems to come quicker every year iykwim. The local Air Cadets are helping so I think I will take a back seat lol. Might do a litter pick whilst they are clambering up ladders etc.
Had a quick bonfire of some of the brambles I have been cutting back up the field - spectacular flames for a few minutes - then the smoke got me lol. Stink of it currently - but it can wait until I;ve done the painting - no point getting clean twice
Hugs and spoons as usual

Morning all
It turns out dd has covid and I suspect OH has too, I feel dreadful this morning with a raging sore throat and muggy head but my test has come back negative I think it might be too soon to show up, I will do another one tomorrow and I really don’t want to give anything to mum or the vulnerable people I look after.
Not sure about dinner tonight I will go and have a look after this it will be something quick and easy. I have stripped the bed this morning and the wm is doing its thing now, the bedding can be hung out for a while but I’m not sure it will dry at all but it will smell fresh.
I think a day of sloth is on the cards seeing as we are all poorly the dogs will need to be walked but OH can do that, he slept for about 17 hours yesterday 🙄 so he has more energy that dd and I.
Camelot not too long to wait for you op, take care in the mean time xx
Have good days all and take care xx1
