AEG Warranty - what are my rights as a consumer

I purchased 3 AEG ex display products in June 2024 and at the time of purchase the shop advised I would have a 6 year warranty as they were "an approved supplier of AEG"   Due to building work the items were not fitted until December.  In January 2025 I logged an in year warranty claim as the combi microwave oven was burning food when using the microwave, and we couldn't connect it to wifi.  The engineer visited and advised me to turn the food around and carried out a reset.  Having no prior experience of a combi microwave I accepted this, however since then the unit slowly lost time and after discussing the burning issue with a family member who advised their unit didn't burn food in microwave mode I booked an in year AEG warranty repair  in August 2025.  At the time the AEG app advised my warranty had expired but there was a note advising all products have a 2 year warranty and they were updating their systems.  The system let me book an in warranty booking.  The first engineer visit advised it required a stirrer, a door seal and a control board and he would order the parts.  The second visit the engineer changed the board and the unit showed a F439 error code and was left unusable.  After a number of cancelled appointments on the third visit the engineer tried again to replace the board with a new one only to get the same error, the engineer contact AEG to get the unit replaced AEG advised that the item is not under warranty and so the engineer packed his things and left.  The microwave is now unusable with a tie wrap hanging out of the front.  After contacting AEG they initially advised me that outlined in clause 10 they reserve the right to invalid the warranty.  I have since communicated that the unit was working prior to the engineer visit and now its not usable at all, between communications they have advised that the unit is beyond economical repair and have offered me 10% off a new product as a gesture of goodwill.

In between the microwave issues the oven suddenly stopped working during routine clean and switched off.  Again I booked an in year warranty claim three visits later the engineer has also requested the item replacing and again I have the same response the item is out of warranty and they will offer a chargeable repair.  .

The shop I bought them form is no longer there.

Six weeks on I have a microwave that is totally unusable and an oven that has a faulty sensor.  Can anyone advise what my rights are here as I booked the repairs in good faith following what was displayed on the app.  Three engineer visits to both products and numerous communications from the AEG engineer before anyone advised the products were out of warranty and the microwave is now totally unusable following their 2nd engineer visit.

Any comments greatly appreciated

As you didn’t purchase the items from AEG directly, their liability is only whatever the terms of the warranty are.

Your consumer rights are against the retailer, however if they no longer exist, that’s a non starter.

If you paid by credit card, you may be able to make a Section 75 claim. You’d need a report from a qualified engineer though confirming they have failed due to manufacturing faults as it’s more than 6 months from purchase. Any refund would be reduced to take into account usage and that would be from date of purchase. The date they were installed is irrelevant.
