Ebay item not arrived

According to my ebay purchase summary, the item was 'Delivered on Wed 15 Oct'. It wasn't.

If I click track package, I get this: "
Your session has expired Please log in to see your order tracking details". However, I am logged in.

Delivery history

  1. Wed 15 Oct
    11:59am
This parcel has been delivered to the customers letterbox
  2. Wed 15 Oct
    10:27am
    ETA of delivery
  3. Wed 15 Oct
    10:08am
The courier has received this parcel for delivery and will set a delivery time shortly
  4. Wed 15 Oct
    4:45am
    Parcel processed at the depot

It was not put through my letterbox.

It's this item:  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/197756697671

It's strange that it had to go through customs as the location was shown as London.

I've messaged the seller. What do I do to get ebay to refund me?

What's also strange is that the price I paid was £5.10, whereas the seller now wants more than double that for the same item. It can't really be a scam? Not for £5, surely? So, what's happening?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Out of interest first two feedbacks shown are not good.  Cainiao appears to be a shipper for Ali Express so at a guess this seller is doing some kind of business buying from China and shipping direct to customer.
I think you have to raise a claim for non delivery and see if seller can offer more information like the co-ordinates of where it was supposedly delivered.

    There would seem to be three main possibilities;
1 the delivery driver has lied about putting the parcel through your letterbox

2 the address is not correct
3 the tracking number supplied doesn't relate to your purchase

Try tracking on evri who delivered the parcel, see if it recognises your postcode as the delivery address. Tell the seller that you have not received the item and ask for proof of the delivery address.
Also message ebay to report that the listing said it was in London but the package was shipped from China. Tell ebay if evri do not confirm your postcode as the delivery address.

Did you not get an e-mail with proof of delivery ? Have you checked the Evri site ? I have received 2 Ebay / Evri parcels this week and both have photo and map in the e-mail and on line tracking.  You will have to use the Evri tracking code H06R4A0012472901

It will be interesting to note whether it recognises your postcode as correct.

“Enter the postcode the parcel is getting delivered to

    This is the incorrect postcode”

I have started the item not delivered process, but eBay says that I have to wait 3 days.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

The email just says delivered through the letterbox. No photos or gps data.

  • I find it hard to believe sellers in China can source genuine Makita tools, places like AliExpress are full of fake tools, you are better off buying branded tools from places you can trust, plenty of websites online, if they have a modern slavery statement on their website they'll be turning over more than £36 million a year and are very likely legit.

Don't even trust Amazon these days, all these sellers ship their stuff to Amazon warehouses, who is to say it doesn't get mixed in with the stock Amazon sell?

I would suggest contacting the seller (again) and saying 'the tracking info provided does not match my address' it could be a genuine mistake....or not.

I just got a message from eBay:

    You received a refund

We’ve issued you a refund. You should receive it in 3-5 working days.

I suppose that is good, despite there being no response from the seller. It all seems a great waste of time.

Even without the delivery postcode you can see that the seller has lied about the item location. Ebay have the delivery address so can easily see it doesn't match the supplied tracking info. I'm sure they will deduct the sum from the seller's account. This is one way which simple delivery does actually help, it is very hard to enter a fake or incorrect tracking number for private sellers.
