USB in car issue

I have a usb in my car which I use to listen to music I have put onto a usb stick. Worked fine for years then suddenly every track stopped after a few seconds and tried to restart. I used a brand new usb stick and copied my music from my laptop in case somehow the original stick was faulty. Now it doesn’t skip tracks but every time I cut the engine it always starts from the beginning of the music tracks on the first folder.previously wherever it stopped when I turned the engine on it used to start there. Not a catastrophe by any means just annoying. Can anyone shed light on why this is happening. I have since tried yet another usb stick and the same thing happens with that. Thanks

edit.have tried turning radio off before I cut engine but even when I do that radio comes on when I restart

Which car make/model/year. eg, if its a newer one with over the air updates, perhaps an update has cause this.

Could someone have changed any settings in the audio system?

Long shot, have you tried pulling the fuse for the audio system out and in, and see if that changes anything?

Go on a brand/model specific forum and see if anyone else has the same problem.

Cars is an old one lol. Hyundai i10 2012. Doesn’t have many fancy gadgets on it. I will google the model and see what I can find.thanks
