Morning all, dry here, woop! Allotment yesterday was good, got a lot of stuff done and more jobs to add to the list. I'm off to Wales today and visit a friend who had a hip replacement last week, she's doing well, just on paracetomol apparently....Hopefully I'll come back from Wales with a boot full of stuff to so my sisters house is a bit emptier...We'll see...Other than that, nothing else, may take a few apples with me to make a tart, it'll be a change.dp1, have you been to the docs about your mouth? It may be an infection that needs something to clear it..SO, make one out of scrap fabric first, that way you know you won't mess things up. Gers, hope the phone transfer goes smoothly. That's why I always buy the same kind so it's easier
it's still usually frustrating st some point though. camelot, seems to be a symptom of doctors to not listen to women in general when there's something really wrong or fob you off wih painkillers. WL, hope your arm improves. Allie, every time I see something crafty, i think of you and your makes..the latest ones I've been seeing are little houses and boats and stuff made out of scrap wood and painted, they're really cute. Wish I had the inclination to be honest, well done for keeping on...Take care all, hope it's a good day for you...

Morning all
Dry here and doesn’t feel quite as cold, day off for me today but I have the dentist at lunch time there is a M & S next to the dentist so I will pop in there and see if anything takes my fancy.
The meeting went well with the new lady yesterday they seem like a nice family, we had a bit of a discussion about my hours, they wanted to change them considerably which I was not willing to do, so we settled on me starting an hour later and finishing and hour later, I can do that but not the finishing much later in the evening, not for me !So I will give notice to Matt today it’s a shame because I love the family but he is too unpredictable and will be going into residential soon anyway.
Dinner tonight will be a T/A Chinese I have been wanting one for ages so tonight is the night, it will save cooking too, OH seems to have come down with DD’s cold now as well, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before I get it too.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
DP1 I had a mild dose of Covid about 2 years ago and that changed my sense of taste a lot in various ways. Foods I used to like I now don't as they don't taste the same, sometimes really unpleasant, yet others have stayed the same. Unfortunately my love for sweet stuff has remained!. It's weird and consulting Dr Google hasn't provided an answer. Apparently this is usually short lived but occasionally isn't."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7

Morning all, thanks @Gers for starting today's post - I'm glad you managed to nod off for a bit longer after your early awakening. Usual weather report - dry but cloudy, dull, no sun and temps same as yesterday. Tomorrow looks more promising, then we're in for a week of rain after which the clocks will be going back!
During my please myself afternoon yesterday I went web browsing for either a mat or board for the jigsaws I've bought. I don't want them cluttering up the dining table as that's already used for a multitude of purposes (besides eating) nor did I want to spend too much - some of them are quite expensive. Light bulb moment - I've ordered a cork pinboard at a cost of less than £5 including postage. It's from a reputable company I've used before and should be delivered either tomorrow or Monday. It has a mount around the edge to stop the pieces falling off and I can slide it under the sofa when I need the table.
Usual Friday admin and housework today with nothing exciting going on other than tree surgeons cutting back conifers at the house on the corner. They've been at it for nearly three hours already and I suspect I'll be hearing their chain saws in my sleep!Tea will be a lemon & pepper coated fish fillet with mushy peas.
@TA - Glad to hear the Sandman came calling last night, long may it continue!
@AA - I used to feel I hadn't done anything when it came to the small projects so now I have a list for them - it keeps me on track and the physical crossing off once they're done is so satisfying.
@camelot - Thank goodness someone's finally listened and you now have a date for the op. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't get cancelled.
@dp1 - Oh no, something else for LO to deal with. I hope your sense of taste comes back soon too.
Have a good end of week all, healing wishes for the poorly ones, hugs if needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -

Morning everyone,
I hope everyone is okay today ?
It’s a grey, damp day here, typical autumn weather tbh.
I’ve not done much so far apart from the laundry and cleaning the bathroom and toilet.
Im waiting for a telephone doctor appointment as my anxiety has reared its ugly head 😢 so going to try and nip it in the bud before it starts getting bad as before.
I hope everyone has a good day xxTrying to change my life and will:money:7 -
Good afternoon all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Late posting from me. I’ve been round to Mums to paint her indoor porch. Not a huge area but LOTS of edges and she chose teal which is a bit unforgiving against white woodwork. Second coat to be done on Sunday. I took her food shopping afterwards and she tried to foist 4 x egg custard tarts on me which I kindly refused as I’m on day 13/30 of a sugar detox. I blinking love egg custard tarts so this was a huge deal for me!!
Now home - washing on and have just finished lunch. DH is tinkering with his little car.I went to see The Importance of Being Earnest last night and it was fabulous - would highly recommend.Glad you could come to a compromise re: new hours @RedRuby1231 and enjoy your takeaway later.Good idea of @-taff’s to do a scrap fabric bear first @silver-oldie - good luck with it x
I don’t mind lots of little jobs @AlwaysAllie - and like @YorksLass I really enjoy crossing them off my list 😊
Glad you have a date for your procedure @camelot1001 x.Sorry to hear about your injury @WickedLady4 - nice to do some dancing for a change though 😊
Hope DGD feels better soon @dp1 x
Have a good day all (what’s left of it!)
