Morning folks and thanks for the start Sleepyhead! I hope you managed to nod off again for a little while. It's getting harder to leave a nice cozy bed these autumn mornings. Apparently it's 7 deg outside this morning. The heating is on and warming the house up nicely. After a long string of sleepless nights the Sandman finally caught up with me last night and I slept through until 6 am.
I have a bit of an achy arm this morning thanks to yesterday's Covid jab but no other side effects. B**ts was quite busy with lots of other old dodderers (like me) turning up for their jabs. DD and DGD were waiting for me when I came out and we went on our little shopping trip. It didn't last as long as our usual shopping trips and I was quite restrained with just one or two bits for the freezer. I only tidied them out last week and they are already in turmoil. I'm sure there is a phantom messer upper living in the garage!
The excitement of today is a much needed haircut. She's not coming until this afternoon so this morning will involve the usual Friday Tidy, plus a quick clean of the kitchen and bathroom which usually get done on a Thursday.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. RUBY I'm glad Matt has responded well to the new medication but what a pity it hadn't been tried before you gave in notice. I hope the new lady works out well for you. Take care all stay safe xx

Hi all
Another one here not enjoying the dark mornings - it’ll get slightly better after next weekend albeit only for a short while.I seem to have a mountain of small projects - I’m getting them dine but they don’t feel as satisfying as big ones somehow. I’ll just plod on - there’s some rain due over the weekend so that’ll be a good chance to have a loft clear out!Have a good day all

Made it downstairs, fully dressed and ready for the day. No idea why I needed more sleep but I enjoyed it.My day yesterday was peaceful and non-productive. I caught up with some fiddly jobs and some TV, nothing more. As today is rather colder I've brought out another wool jumper to layer up, not had to get out the thick ones yet but the time will come.I have to wait in for a number of deliveries today, hopefully including my new phone, I imagine that sorting it out will take most of my time. The 'old' one is going to my great-nephew, he's delighted so that'll make two people happy!Great news about Matt, @Ruby. Sometimes a wee tweak or addition of meds can bring about the biggest difference.I hope that all are well, or getting better. Hope the sore arm soon eases @TA. Hugs all round.13

Morning all.
Been MIA a bit as I have a muscular problem in my left arm. To be honest it's been building up for some time but playing for last Saturday's procession pushed it over the edge. I can't get a GP appointment until Thursday so have been icing it in the meantime but am not playing my melodeon and am limiting time spent on the laptop.
Of course, this means I've reverted to dancing at Morris practice, as I can't stand around doing nothing! Have to build up my dance stamina again and hope the rest of my body can cope
Today we plan to do some geocaching just north of Towcester, about 30 mins away. There's a recommended garden centre for lunch which we've never visited so it will be good to have a browse. A friend gave me some apples from her garden so we had apple crumble and custard last night and there's still one portion left in the fridge.
Hope everyone's day goes to plan and hugs for the poodles.

Morning All
I feel like a part-timer on here at the moment but have been reading along. I've been back and forth to the hospital and doctors about this blooming gall bladder pain and felt as though no-one was listening to me, just gave me more pain killers. Anyway, I had an emergency appointment with a surgeon yesterday and will have the offending organ removed on 28th October, fingers crossed. DD came with me yesterday and was brilliant, asked some questions I hadn't thought of and was generally a good support.
Anyway, enough moaning from me,
Happy new phone Gers, I hate having to set up a new phone.
Hope your arm improves WL.
Happy house-sitting Chrisca.
Glad you had a good day with Matt Ruby, how did you get on with the new lady?
Right, off to the shower for me to stay out of the way of the builders - they've nearly finished, putting the flooring down today and hopefully the cupboard doors will go back on.
Take care. XX

Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
I’m glad Lionel had a good Birthday
Cold and wet here, I was hoping to strip the bed and get the wm on but that can wait until tomorrow as the forecast is much better.
I'm thinking of making a memory bear. Haven't made anything like it before so not sure how it will turn out. Problem is I don't want to cut things up and make a mess.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning everyone
I had a nice chat with little one after work yesterday, she was feeling a little better and DD was planning on sending her to school for the morning today....then she discovered white spots on her tonsils so may need antibiotics. I'm going to get them some shopping so I'll call in before work. I'll also go down to mam and dads to do his banking this morning too.
I'm finding the loss of taste very frustrating, everything tastes sour and salty...a new symptom this time and my tongue is so sore, it feels like it's burning.
Right best get moving, I hope everyone has a good day x
Izzy - I'd be terrible at working in a charity shop...I'd buy something every time x11
