Looking for recommendations to get watch valued/sold in London

I have a watch that was gifted to me in the 1970's. A popular make. Never worn but was put away. Just took it out and it is still ticking away! I am guessing it will bring £250 - 350 (or more?) on Ebay but I am reluctant to sell it there as I have no paperwork.
Can anyone recommend anyone in London (willing to travel) where I can get it valued - perhaps even sell it there?

You could try contacting Watchfinder for a quote.Or go into any jewellers which has a selection of second-hand watches in their window.Philip0

A lot of watch shops have two options for selling. They will buy the watch from you (you get the money immediately, but may receive a little less money as they are taking the risk) or they can sell it on consignment where they will list it on your behalf meaning you may get a little more money, but you have to wait until a customer buys it.Also unless you’re already in London, there’s no need to go to a London watch dealer. Most towns and cities will have a reputable watch dealer and as all their items are listed online the need to go to somewhere like Bond Street is not as important anymore.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
I am in London so I thought I could visit them with the watch and they can see it for themselves and I could come home with some cash! Bit reluctant to list it on Ebay as I have no paperwork for it.0

Will do that.messia07 said:kalsha said:I am guessing it will bring £250 - 350 (or more?) on Ebay but I am reluctant to sell it there as I have no paperwork.I find searching eBay’s completed & sold listings, is the best way to get a good idea of a price of an item. failing that, some collectors forums are a great way to find out an items price.0
