Financial gifts for birthday/Christmas whilst on Carers Allowance

Does anyone know if you are allowed to receive money for your birthday/Christmas whilst on Carers/ Allowance?  I don't have any other income and look after both, very elderly, parents.  They would like to give a birthday gift of £500.  There is no info on this on the Gov.uk site.  I know you are allowed to have savings as CA isn't means tested.

It's fine, the gift isn't classed as income. No one will even know.

Cash gifts, like savings, have no effect on Carer's Allowance. It's only if you earn money through employment (ie payments, wages etc) that you have to report it to CA.
