UKCPS Multiple Charges Issued
Banyah
Hi there,
I have another post regarding avoiding UKCPS's extortionate charges.
I have read the forum on similar issues extensively and I don't want to start a new thread unnecessarily, however I believe this case is different as I can't see any reasoning as to why my appeal would hold value if it were to progress to court. With all other cases on this forum there seems to be some form of reasoning that would make for a defending case in court.
How it occurred
Ongoing cladding works and a large property development on the street outside my apartment building has made on-street parking spots regularly unavailable due to the workers parking there and often blocks the roadway.
I noticed that people had started using a small section of land to park on just off the road. This area is part of my apartment building but is privately managed by UKCPS. I stupidly assumed that it had become acceptable to park here during the works and over the space of a week I have been issued with 4 NTK's via post.
I of course did not park here after I had received the first notice.
Should I just pay?
This was silly on my part to have parked here for so long under just an assumption, however I'm asking you, the members of this forum whom are clearly more clued up on PPC charges than myself, to advise whether I have a leg to stand on here in terms of appeal. Should I just pay the charges before the price increases?
The only exception I can see here is that 2 of the NTK's were issued within a 24 hour period. (One of 3/10 at 10:33 and one on 4/10 at 09:12). The signage reads "Additional charges apply for each 24 hour period". Since this doesn't prove that the car was there for more than 24 hours since the first notice was issued, does this hold validity for appeal?
I have attached images of all 4 NTK's as well as my own images of the signage and the surrounding area.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Of course you don't pay. Just ignore UKCPS but tell them if you move house. That's all. Nobody pays ex-clampers UKCPS but don't park there again.
That sign is not prominent! Breach of the CRA 2015.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"This area is part of my apartment building"
Presumably you have no space of your own? What is the virtual permit thing they state?1 -
No there is no allocated parking for my building, just on-street council operated parking. The virtual permits I assume are only issued by the building management for service vehicles working on the property, not for residents.Car1980 said:"This area is part of my apartment building"

No chance I’ll be parking there again!Coupon-mad said:Of course you don't pay. Just ignore UKCPS but tell them if you move house. That's all. Nobody pays ex-clampers UKCPS but don't park there again.

Yes I agree with you about non-payment, however my worry is that if they do progress it to a court case (which is likely due to the amount of charges), I wouldn’t have a chance of winning and will end up paying much more than the ‘reduced’ rate offered in the first 14 days.
I would imagine they’ll be able to counter the Consumer Rights Act breach you mentioned.0 -
