Downloading music

Please help a nerd! I have a Sony Walkman MP3 player and I want to start downloading music. I want to do this legally (of course) and I wonder if you could help me find the best and cheapest sites to do this from? I don't want to have to do any formatting (or whatever it is called)

    I have an Ipod, but I also have a sony ericsson walkman phone and for both of these I use itunes. Just download it for free from the apple website.

    Just rip the CDs youy already own, it's a lot cheapre than paying to download things.

    It's not difficult - this place has rules - just follow them. If you don't like them don't post here. The rules are here to protect our benevolent provider (aka Martin) and you should show some respect for this fantastic resource.

    You can also burn your own cds onto itunes if you want to add music you already own to your mp3
