Morning! I discovered yesterday mowing up the fallen leaves on the pavement with the electric lawnmower was a piece of wee...I think my neighbours will be happy anyway
Waiting for a parcel this morning follwed by definite allotment this afternoon, I took apart some more raised beds here to use there, what a faff that was. I forgot I'd screwed brackets undernesth too, the long bolts had seized, I ened up using a sledgehamer, a lump hammer and a crwobar to get the damn things apart...I needed a sit down after that...Went to a friends for bacon sarnies, that was nice, we had a laugh when I told them about my dream that I was dating brad Pitt but decided it was too much trouble so binned him off....How bizarre...
Gers, did you ever say Lionels name when you were saying he was visiting? Sorry for confusing him with Alan...I blame Scarlet!!err...I don't though...Izzy, I froget lots of stuff every day, so now you've said it, I'll be expecting an empty cup of tea to appear too at some point in the furutre
Ruby, what a shame he's finally found something that works a bit too late for you to but fingers crossed for the new lady. Coxy, have a lovely time! Scarlet, same , I don't really know what to do with all the defunct for us but still working items we have dotted about the place. The place inside the scrapstore that used to refurb them is closed now. Take care today all.....

ScarletRibbons said:Gers. how did you know to put vapour rub on the twitchy nerve, I'm curious! Also, I think it may have been me who started everyone off thinking your Dm's friend was Alan, sorry about that!I think I just took a punt on the idea - but lingering in my mind was the 'nonsense' notion about the stuff helping with sleep. After walking around, rubbing my feet on the carpet and trying to ignore the twitch I was ready to try anything. Of course, I don't know if it actually worked or the end of twitch was coming already! It was definitely worth trying. As for Alan, no need to apologise. I don't think I've ever mentioned Lionel's name before so it would be a logical conclusion to call him Alan - I really appreciated your comment.xx In the restaurant there were two other parties celebrating big birthdays so it all got a bit jolly for a while as singing broke out and everyone joined it!12

Good afternoon
Another one here who's been faffing around all morning, but I have done some washing and prepared pulled pork in the sc for tea.
OH is going shopping later to get dog food, theres .no way I'm lifting a large sack of dried food after having my eye done.
Gers belated birthday wishes to Lionel, I remember reading about him and your DM when I was lurking.
Izzy, I also do daft things., I've been known to put hot water in the mugs without the tea bags. Or I put 2 tea bags in one mug. No hope for me.
Have a good day everyone, take care.11 -
Afternoon everyone,
It’s a damp grey day here.
I’ve not done much apart from nip to the doctors to get some paperwork to send off came home and walked the dog around the block and just ran the vacuum over the downstairs and it’s it.
Trying to change my life and will:money:10 -
Afternoon all, thanks @Scarlet for this morning's start. Yet another gloomy day with no sign of any sun, despite repeated promises of sunny intervals.
It's getting monotonous! Daytime temps of 13 deg, 7 overnight.
Yesterday's cooking marathon done and dusted along with what seemed like mountains of washing up afterwards. Worth it though as I have a freshly baked loaf, 8 brown scones, 4 portions of chilli and 12 squares of parkin. I'll have one of the chilli portions tonight with a jacket potato. Out of idle curiosity, I costed up the ingredients for the parkin that came to £2.52 - 9 very generous servings at 28p each or 12 slightly smaller but perfectly adequate pieces at 21p each. I dare say it could be done cheaper if the ingredients came from the likes of Aldi or Lidl but, sadly, I don't have either of those near me. Still cheaper though than shop bought, even after factoring in the gas/elec; nicer too.
Onto today and I've spent the morning dealing with emails, hence my later than usual post. Two bothersome ones in particular. One from my water supplier with an updated bill, I don't know why it's been amended nor did the call agent I spoke to. She's raising a query with their accounts department but it could be a week or so before I hear back from them. The other is from my energy supplier to book a smart meter installation. Apparently my electricity meter has reached the end of its life and needs replacing, plus they'll try to fit a smart meter for the gas at the same time. It will be interesting to see what happens as I was told by my previous supplier it couldn't be done because of an issue with the comms box (or something like that). Anyway, appointment booked for the week after next so we'll see. On the plus side, thanks to the recent decluttering of DH's tools, I won't have much to move out of the big cupboard where the meter lives.
@Gers - Sounds like a wonderful lunch yesterday but sorry to hear you had a twitchy foot during the night. Apparently Vicks is supposed to be good for corns too although I've never tried it.
@Ruby - Lovely to hear Matt's new medication has made such a difference, just a pity it's taken so long though. Fingers crossed all went well at the meet up with your new people today.
@Izzy, @Chrisca, @remmie - I tell myself those senior moments happen because my brain is too full and needs emptying of all the useless dross that's in there!
I've now lost the plot so am having a please myself afternoon.I hope everyone else's day is going well, take care all. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.10
