Halifax overdraft charges from over 10 years ago, maybe 15!

I know a lot will call me biased due to being an ex banker but can I make one point?
The lady (or her husband to be precise) said that at times she had gone out of overdraft and back into credit.
Then life got in the way and she needed to pay urgent bills etc. - what would she have done if the overdraft facility had not existed?
You could make a point that the bank helped her out?5 -
I'm one Halifax threw an unheard of arranged overdraft limit at at one point, which I accepted. However, not liking the charging structure, I am not using it. A daily charge in £1 increments is not for me. Halifax is not Iceland.0
