Passport Renewal

I need to renew my passport but I also need to change the address & update the photo - can this all be done at the same time using the online renewal service that costs £94.50 or is there a different process/ additional cost for doing so?
(Other than the cost of the photos).

Don't need to specifically update your address for your new passport, it's not part of the data held.Ezio2025 said:I need to renew my passport but I also need to change the address & update the photo - can this all be done at the same time using the online renewal service that costs £94.50 or is there a different process/ additional cost for doing so?

But they will need your address so they know where to send your new one.
A new photo is always required at renewal.2 -
I helped an aunt renew her passport in the last few weeks. Though she didn't have to change her address. To the best of my knowledge a passport isn't associated with an address. However an address was required to post the new passport. I imagine for anti-money laundering purposes, the address has to match the address of the card used to pay. Though that is me speculating. So yes you can put your details in online. In terms of the photo, you need to go to one of those photobooths that spits out a number after your photo is taken. You enter this number into the online form, and hey presto the system has your latest passport photo. In terms of the photo, there were sites at my aunt's local Tesco and Asda. They cost £12 and £10 respectively. At Asda somebody makes sure you are following the rules for passport photos, they take your picture and then give you the pictures with the associated code. You can of course take your own photo, but to be acceptable you need to follow the rules on the passport website. Finally if memory serves, you had to return the old passport but I am not sure about that.1

Hi all
thanks for the fast response!!
okay so I’ll just go ahead and renew it online using my new address after I’ve got the photos done at a booth
that’s great thanks again!1 -
Last time I renewed I used the Post Office service which was excellent. They fill the form for you, take the photo, handle the postage, do everything, no hassle, no problems. I'd highly recommend it. Think it was £109......easy to check cost online.1

Just checked this..it’s £110.50 for the Post Office to do it for you which is still pretty decent considering it all gets done in one go at the same time so thanks for this info!subjecttocontract said:Last time I renewed I used the Post Office service which was excellent. Post Office is excellent. When I renewed, I got the first confirmation text message as I walked out of the door!1

And the passport is separately returned, with a corner clipped off the cover to cancel itflaneurs_lobster said:

For a renewal I found it very easy (and cheaper) to do it all online myself.subjecttocontract said:Last time I renewed I used the Post Office service which was excellent. I'd do the passport, then the driving licence slightly later (a few weeks) as the photo uploaded for the passport can be reused for the driving licence.Ezio2025 said:

I renewed both last year and waited for my passport to come back, which took about 10 days in February, before updating my licence.1
