Thanks, but its just lpa Im doing, not a will

My will is going to be done next month by a solicitor face to face.

Regarding the lpa, i put the same question i raised in my OP to the office of public guardian today who assured me the sole attorney can sell the house which is jointly owned, without the need for a trustee, or anyone else for that matter. I got them to verify this with their seniors too.

I don't know who you've heard the 'other' advice from, but I'd tend to trust what I hear from a solicitor more than what I hear from "someone down the pub". And once I was PAYING said solicitor, I'd definitely rely on what they said, if only because I'd be in a position to sue the pants off them if they got it wrong ...
The other you refer to, was Which Wills, and several online solicitors, including the government sites

What makes you think it was advice from down the pub?

And what qualifications do you have?

I have no relevant qualifications, which is why I'd rely on advice from a solicitor with whom I had a contractual relationship over anything else. Apart from anything else, such a solicitor has a responsibility to extract from you all relevant information, which clearly we can't do here.

I apologise for using a casual term to describe 'other' advice. If I'd got something contradictory in black and white, then again, I'd ask my solicitor to explain why they were right rather than this other source of advice.
