Changing a Will - best way to do it

I want to change my will and my wifes will. Currently, Dad is in a care home unlikely to come out due to dementia and frailty of age (92).He lived in a house I own, which if I predeceased him, he would inherit. As he has no use I would like to remove this request.
I also left a sum of money to a relative which I also want to amend to a percentage.
Do I need a new will drawing up or is there another way to do it. Just thinking about reducing the fees

Would adding a codicil work at a cheaper rate? Or would a new will be simpler? I would think that you might negotiate with the solicitor firm given that you have all the details drawn up already.
And I hope you're not going to change your wife's will without her input!!

Wills are not the things to penny pinch on. You are making major changes, so you need a new will, and this should be done through a local solicitor to an unregulated will writer. Don't even think of DIYing it.1

Firstly you can’t change your wife’s will, she has to do it herself. As others have said you need to consult a solicitor.1

Wife is in accordance with this so no worries there.Devongardener said:Firstly you can’t change your wife’s will, she has to do it herself. As others have said you need to consult a solicitor.
Our wills were drawn up by our solicitor, as was the previous ones, so would never think of DIY.
