I'm concerned this is a hire car and the hire firm might stupidly pay them.
Do the hirer appeal this week. Don't wait.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi Coupon-mad, is there a reason to do the appeal ASAP? I am currently approaching to the hotel to see if they will cancel, but my understanding is that currently the NTH is not pofa compliant as they didn't include the hire agreement, liability form, etc. If I am not mistaken they have 21 days to provide these from the issue date of the NTH to make it compliant, so I was thinking to leave it to the last minute to appeal to ensure they go over the 21 days time window.Coupon-mad said:I'm concerned this is a hire car and the hire firm might stupidly pay them.

PoFA compliance is irrelevant in Scotland. That's a wrong rabbit hole for you to go into.Zbubuman said:

Please let me know if my reasoning is wrong. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Unfortunately due to the selfish behaviour of some people many premises have to implement systems to ensure their genuine customers are able to get a parking space, either by systems like this or charging extra for parking.Except that such a system is not implemented here. The parking company would make no money if there was.
I would not class entering your registration as 'jumping through hoops'.The system would be fair IF:
• the signage stated that if an incorrect VRM is accidentally entered a quick email to the hotel to prove residency would result in the charge being cancelled.
• signage so clear that it would be almost impossible for anyone to fail to enter their VRM at the machine.
I can guarantee neither of these things are in place and all profit is down to those "selfish" drivers. Does the postman or DPD driver have to do all these things for a 30 second dropoff? That's certainly "jumping through hoops", no?4 -
You are in huge danger because it's a hire car.Zbubuman said:

If you leave it late, the greater the chance of the PPC sending a red DRA demand to the hire firm and all 3 PCNs being paid at £170.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
