Anyone else got an email from Utilita saying they are moving you to EDF?
I got an email this morning telling me that my account was being moved to EDF, apparently because I am a 'credit customer' I pay my bill monthly by variable DD.
I was looking at changing to see if i could get a cheaper rate a while ago but to be honest the savings were minimal so not worth the bother really. I have a smart meter and want to stay on variable DD. The email does not say if I am going to be tied in to EDF and Im suspecting that the rate may be the same the same for a short period and then rise higher than I would pay if I changed supplier myself.
The email says my rate wont change although when I go on a comparison site its telling me I will save £130 if I change to EDF.
I wondered if anyone else has got the email and looking for thoughts really. If i have to change then I want the option of who to change to.

When you get moved to EDF, go into their app or customer portal and see how much the cheapest tariff they are offering saves you. Then switch to that or move away if you can find a better deal elsewhere that offers variable DD.1

I suspect EDF will immediately move you to a monthly DD setup as well - if you need to contact them, their parlance for variable DD is - IIRC - "pay whole bill monthly"🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
