Extra Postage Cover .. Item sold for £300

I listed an item with postage of £8 (for once, eBay simple delivery didn't automatically jump in during the listing)

Now, it has sold for a fraction under £300

Going to 'buy' a postage label through ebay, all the compensation levels are way below this figure, except the Special Delivery option at over £14.

OI had intended using the RM 48hr service.. is there no way to add extra insurance ?

medium parcel, 1-2 kg

thank you

I think that the compensation limits are fixed for each service.  In your shoes I would pay for Special Delivery.  After all it has presumably sold for a lot more than you expected - it's good news really even though you are paying more than anticipated to post it.

I would use special delivery too. Once you get into a few hundred pounds of insurance cover you aren't going to do much better once you have added on any extra cover required..... Plus, on the off chance they don't deliver on time you can claim back the full cost of postage too.

Royal Mail tracked 24 or 48 will cover you for up to £150, the question is is the £6-£10 saving worth risking the other £150?

Thanks for your comments .. in the end, I opted for Special Delivery.

No doubt it won't go missing .. BUT IF IT DOES .. I'll be covered  :)
