UC, Mental Health and Rent Payments

April 25- April 26 is a normal 52 week year for weekly rents due on a Monday.
If you have any rent free weeks then UC calculate that into each monthly payment over the year. So you receive 12 equal payments which total your eligible rent.
If for example you have two rent free weeks in December, they don't pay less Housing Element just in December.
Instead your eligible weekly rent would be multipled by 50 (number of weeks), then divided into 12 (months), you would be paid that amount each and every month.

My rent was always sorted out by the council. With UC my rent goes directly to the council due to my mental health. When I filled out the online migration to UC, I sat on the phone with an income officer at the council and she told me which figures to put in for my rent.KxMx said:April 25- April 26 is a normal 52 week year for weekly rents due on a Monday.

So Universal Housing is correct. The issue is with the Councils rent accountThe comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
