Quotes from MSE don't match the actual cost when you ring Insurance company to complete purchase

Yesterday I ran a quote for my home insurance renewal on the Money Supermarket comparison tool and I tried to purchase the policy online but it said I had to ring Insurer. When I rang the insurer the price they told me was over £300 more expensive than the quote I had in front of me. Why?

The insurer would probably ask more detailed questions and something in your answers caused the quote to increase.0

Clearly there was some reason why you can't complete online, normally you would and so the price paid is the price quoted... occasionally you have to review questions and with different options available pricing may change.BobbyDazzler10 said:Yesterday I ran a quote for my home insurance renewal on the Money Supermarket comparison tool and I tried to purchase the policy online but it said I had to ring Insurer. The company you called may be able to explain why you couldn't complete online, it's likely the reason why the premiums are different.0
