Disney+ on Android TV boxes

Tried to install Disney+ on an Android TV Box attached to an older, dumb TV in a bedroom. Installed OK and allows me to log in to my account. I select a film or episode to watch , click on " play" and - whoosh - the app crashes ! Repeated with a 2nd Android box elsewhere in the house and the same thing happens.
These aren't particularly old ~ 2021 and both run other apps happily eg I Player ,Discovery+, ITVX etc They are both running Android 10
Have tried several times but no success .Any suggestions or am I going to have to buy a Firestick ??

Disney have dropped support for lots of devices that aren't that old. I have a couple of gen 1 Chromecast and Disney no longer works on them, though things like iPlayer still do.1
