Just as a quick update - barring a few glitches, the existing cashback will be credited to your new card balance (marked as cashback) and then you accrue it like normal, should be the next business day. If you had the old cashback card then let them know if you don't receive it as the lady I spoke to said they had one or two like that

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

And just to confirm, the cashback from the last card was paid today as a credit to the new card

That's good to hear as that was what was holding me back from switching to the new cashback card, I really didn't want to lose my current earned cashback

On the phone they've just told me I should get the cashback in January but in all honesty I don't think the adviser had any clue what I was on about.

Hoping it happens in the next few days, if it doesn't I'll put in a complaint just so they get it right. I don't like doing it but these days it seems the only way to get a "proper" answer. (I'll update here too).

Cashback has been credited this morning.

So just in case this helps someone, the timings were:

Day 1 applied for switch to new Ultra and both credit cards showed on online banking (both showing the history of the Cashback credit card)

Day 3 Cashback credit card disappeared from online banking. Ultra only one left but showing all transactions from previous credit card

Day 4 Cashback accrued on Cashback card credited. As per Nasqueron, I think it’s automatic. Whilst I did call about it, the agents didn’t understand what I was talking about so they didn’t action anything.
