A lot of what the OP mentioned doesn't make sense to me.Albermarle said:

6 x 3 panels and 6 x 5 panels?
4 x 2 rails on top of the concrete posts ?
OP needs to clarify a lot before we can give a proper opinion.0 -
Hi
the 6 panels are to be slotted into existing concrete posts. 6ft wide, 3.x ft high, custom made as the height can't be bought pre made, closeboard type panels
The other 4 are what I think are called arris rail bays, concrete posts with holes at top and bottom that rails fit into, then boards attached to the rails0 -
Thanks.Simp21 said:Hi

Here is a link to 6 x 3 fence panels.
They aren't custom made.

Thanks
The fencer will be providing the panels and materials needed, no charge for slotting them in place.
What do people think of the quotes, seems very high, although it has been nearly 15 years since they were last done. No idea what it cost then.0 -
No it seems about right. Panels are more expensive but easier (and quicker) to fit but in my experience don't last half as long as feather edge board for example0

Thanks
Is fencing really that expensive now
6 panels to be slotted into existing concrete posts and 4 bays where fit arris rails to existing concrete posts and attach boards, plus labour of course0 -

6 panels to be slotted into existing concrete posts and 4 bays where fit arris rails to existing concrete posts and attach boards, plus labour of courseYes, and so is labour. You don't get anything for less than £40/hour these days. Plus getting rid of the waste will incur loading time, travel time, and commercial waste disposal rates. If the concrete posts are already there, you could fit gravel board + 2 horizontal batons. You then hammer on feather edge board which can just be cut to length, and also come in various lengths to start with. You could hire a nail gun to make the job much quicker. Materials would be 48 feather edge boards at £2/board = about 100 quid. Plus the other boards which wouldn't be more than 100 quid. Nail gun hire maybe 50 quid.I've used this method in 3 of my past gardens and they hold up much better than panels that I've seen, which have very thin trellis on the top and very thin wire nails holding them together. You don't necessarily need arris rails and top rails unless you want a more perfect looking finish1
