Capita gets final approval to take over admin of civil service pensions

Saw this article earlier today:
Capita gets final OK to run Civil Service Pension Scheme

It may just be me, but there certainly seems to be quite a bit of "if all goes OK" fingers crossed in there ... !

I’m particularly reassured by the phrases “market leading automation and AI” and “intuitive digital tools”

After all, what could possibly go wrong?

  • Should be done by Civil Servants. Outsourcing is all risk and no reward (except to the companies hoovering up the money)

Capita currently run the TPS (Tata Consultancy Services are due to take over in 2026) and it's an absolute shambles.  There has been a bit in the news about it, but very little given the scale of the problem.  It's surprising they've won another Gov contract.

All I'm going to say is - they had better have got themselves sorted by July 2027 so I can get my pension in payment in December 27..... if not they'll be in the C.r.apita 🤣🤣

Me too - due around six months from now (although it is tiny).

Could be worse - could have been Sodexo

I’d originally planned to go in about 18 months time, but after a couple of life hiccups, I’ve been looking at pulling that forward to next May, meaning I’d need to get my forms in to MyCSP by mid - November.

I’m just worried it might all get lost in the changeover and come May, I’ll be left hanging 🙁

Coincidentally “tools” is a word that leapt to mind whenever I had dealings with Capita

You would think that a company would have more sense than to be called capita because someone really should have realised that the first ime anything went wrong someone would stick an "R" in there.
