Iphone not connecting to Apple Car Play

Hi all

I got a new car in April - connected my iPhone to Apple Car Play wireless - worked great - then suddenly a few months back it stopped connecting. I have connected via a USB cable - but that seems very hit & miss! Will regularly drop out.

I did buy an Aspire 3 Fitbit around the same time as it stopped working - so maybe that is stopping the phone connecting?

Weirdly if I am on the phone when I get into the car, it switches to Apple Car Play wireless fine - but then stops working as soon as I come off the phone.

I have a iPhone 12 - my wife has a slightly smaller version of the iPhone 12 - her phone works fine in my car!

Any ideas what could be wrong with& how to fix - its annoying.

Thanks Mark

Starting point is to disconnect the fitbit and see what happens.

Perhaps too many devices on blue tooth

Disconnect the Fitbit, switch off blue tooth radio and phone, wait 10 min then switch both on

Has the head unit/infotainment unit had a update either OTA or manual?

If it has, then try a reset of head unit &/or disconnect phone from car & car from phone. Then set it all up again.

Sometimes, like all computers they just need resetting.

Maybe try turning off Mac address randomisation (private WiFi address) on the iPhone and see if it helps
