APCOA fines from Manchester airport

Hi
By accident, I drove through both the drop off and pick up areas at Manchester airport a few weeks ago.
At no point did my wheels stop moving and no one got out of nor got into my car.
I was trying to find my BF and his friends to pick them up. I was using FIND MY FRIENDS to navigate to his location and was a driving around trying to find them but they were delayed in the airport security. I ended up parking off site and they walked to meet me.
I opted not to pay any charges as I didn’t actually use the service the charges cover, knowing I will get a fine I would have to fight.
I probably should have started to research about fighting it before now but today the first of 2 likely parking charge notices from APCOA have come through the door.
Do I have the best chance for successful challenge if I use the suggested wording found in these guides for disputing the fines as the registered keeper, not relevant land and refusing to confirm the driver?
Are the rules for airport drop off the same as for pick up – can I use the same argument for both drop off/pick up?

Read the manchester airport threads on here over the last few months, including the appeal as keeper template
Here is one to start you off

Doesn't matter what the reason was, just use the template1 -
They will get cancelled if you use the airport template appeal and appeal as keeper2

Just to confirm I recently received a fine after we accidentally drove through the T2 drop off zone in the dark, lashing down with rain couldn’t see the signs properly. We didn’t even stop the car, just drove straight through.I pointed this out, refused to name the driver and yesterday 14 Oct I got an email saying the fine had been dropped. Great advice on this group, thank you!5

Did they use the word "Fine" ? if they did, as you say, then this opens up some issues for themYorkieDriver said:Just to confirm I recently received a fine after we accidentally drove through the T2 drop off zone in the dark, lashing down with rain couldn’t see the signs properly.
