Morning @Gers Morning allI must have been asleep a long time as it seems to be the year 2035 now ;-)Full of cold here so been up since 4.30am sneezing and being bunged up. How do these things just appear so quickly. A bit of a sore throat yesterday morning. Came in from a bit of gardening in the afternoon and before you knew it I was sneezing for England and my nose was like a dripping tap!Out to do a bit of food shopping later and will have a lazy day after that.Have a good day all x15

Morning, thanks Gers.
Don't know what the weather is like, dry I think. Yesterday was ok but the wind was cold.
I visited my old friend with the shopping she'd wanted, stayed for a chat then came home. I made my pies and just caught up with housework, there's always something to do.
It'll be a quiet day today I think.
YorksLass is it almost a year for your dh? How the time slips away.
Thoughts to you and TA.
Nice to meet you Topher.
We haven't seen themsthebreaks for a while.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.16 -
I had exactly the same thing yesterday - must have sneezed about 500 times, came out of nowhere!Chrisca50 said:Morning @Gers Morning allI must have been asleep a long time as it seems to be the year 2035 now ;-)Full of cold here so been up since 4.30am sneezing and being bunged up. Morning everyone, I'd like to join you if that's OK? Trying to force myself to be more sociable so this feels like a good place to start, even if it is digital!16 -
Hi all
I think I missed yesterday - felt out of sorts first thing then didn’t return to the thread. I did managed to mow the lawn in the afternoon and the time outside fixed my mood!Welcome LilianToday might involve some gardening or some craft work, plus popping to collect some stuff from a friend which might involve cake!Hope all the poorlies feel better - there seems to be a lot of bugs and Covid doing the rounds
take care all

Hi again. Earlier I had fat finger syndrome as I haven't brought my stylus. 😀
James May was fascinating and interesting, Funny with it. I enjoyed the journey from Ice Age explorers to Space Age ones. As well as some of the well known names he brought out those whose names are forgotten even though their contributions were enormous. A thoroughly good evening. My hotel is full of Scotland and Greece football fans, all very well behaved.I've opted for a takeaway away breakfast roll and coffee from the tiny cafe directly opposite the hotel. Both were very very tasty and very MSE to boot. Now I'm digesting and contemplating the rest of my day, a civil ceremony between two male friends in their own house. I'm so happy for them both as it's been a long struggle to get to this point.Take care everyone. I hope that DP's little one managed her school trip. Hugs to all.14 -
Morning everyone thanks for the start Gers and welcome to our newbies everyone is welcome on this friendly the more the merrier. It’s my volunteering day today food waste this morning and charity shop this afternoon I must remember I do not need another scarf it doesn’t matter how cheap or lovely they are I am going to have to look through them all and give some back to the charity shop . Well both funerals were sorted and payed for yesterday she was a lovely lady that sorted it for us and it’s nice to know it’s sorted and we are not leaving the family it to worry about although they were all laughing at me as there was a sale on you got 300 pounds of if you sorted and paid for before the end of October well they know I like a bargain so next week we have our appointment for the wills and POA I bet I don’t get a discount at the solicitors. There seems to be a lot of people with colds and flu I hope everyone feels a lot better soon . Taff you made me laugh about my stories I could tell you some tales but you would never believe them my family always say you attract them I think it all started when I ended up sitting on Gary Glitters knee now that is a story why me 😂 thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you enjoyed the show x
Welcome @lilian1977 - good to meet you. I too need to be more sociable!!
Good to see you @-taff xDH had a dental check up and an eye test yesterday. New spectacles ordered and a follow up at the dentist required. Getting old is expensive!!
I’m going to do some gardening this morning - two more beds to tidy up and mulch. We need some veggies for tonight’s dinner of salmon so will walk down to Co-op as they’ve shut our lane again, this time for 5 days due to a water leak. The diversion is a wiggly single track lane which all manner of vehicles are having to use.Get well wishes to all of poorly folk x
Have a good day all

Morning all.
Dull and grey outside, but at least its dry.
Getting used to my "new" eye, I have an appointment with my optician in two weeks time to check al is ok, and he will then book for the other eye to be done.
Not much happening, I'm another one who has woke up full of cold, I cant remember the last time I had one. Still, will take it easy today. Sausages for tea, if I can be bothered to cook them.
YL, I cant believe it's the first anniversary of DHs passing, time certainly flies. Sending hugs to you.
Ruby, congrats on the new job.
Sorry to all those I've missed out, hope all are keeping well.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning folks and thanks for the start GERS. Another gloomy start but we are forecast some sun this afternoon and it's still feeling mild.
TOPHER and LILIAN it's nice to "meet" you. Our numbers seem to be decreasing again so it's always nice to welcome new friends.
Once again it's Friday so the usual Friday Tidy awaits, though I did make a bit of a head start yesterday. Once again the cubby hole of doom under the stairs has become a dumping ground and I can never get at what I am looking for or even get new junk in! So I now have bags of unwanted or not needed stuff here waiting to take out to the wheelie and it's looking a bit tidier in there for now.
Gosh there are a lot of you with colds just now. I hope it stays at a cold as I have read the new strain of Covid starts off similarly. Sorry to come across as a Job's Comforter! Look after yourselves with ((HUGS)) for all else who need them. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning! Parky but not raiing which is a plus. Plumbers here again to hopefully get the heating working, it was a bit cold last night but when they are done, we can finally get the ceiling done in the old kitchen which will mean it will stay warm and I can remove all the stuff i shved in the gaps. Hopefully will make it to the allotment fater and I have covid/flu jab too. The weekend, who knows, OH is off to some other festival locally with a friend on Saturday, so I have all day to play with there too, I may gallivant, I may not...I may do a flying visit to Wales, I don't know yet. My mse tip of the day, this week is if you want an unbreakable, unbendable apple corer, get some 22m copper pie cut to size with a copper t piece you can push on/pull off, and that does an absolutely stellar job.Gers, sounds like a good night was had then! TA, I had to learn my understars was for storage and not for cramming as much as possible in there, took me a long time to learn that and that it apples to every other cupboard/shelf, and I don't think I'm fully there yet either
Coxy, what a pain, fingers cross they're quicker than they think. Izzy, OK, that sounds like ainteresting story, but also a there butfor the grace of god moment too! Sorry so many of you have colds, they're no fun at all, but I swear by Tescos max strength flu and cold capsules, they're as good as night nurse ones who no longer make them and are cheaper too. They make me feel almost human...dp1, I forgot to say as well, if you're struggling with breathing and you're on the eight steroid wotsits a day, if they said take them all at once, ask them if you can split them half morning, half night, I did that and it made a difference in the night. Hope it gone like the wind...[that is not medical advice by the way, any of it, I'm just saying what worked for me] Hey Lilian
Allie, maybe a hot toddy would help
more toddy than hot.....Yorkslass, times flies, will it or nil it, hope it's not as sharp as it was.. Right, off to do stuff....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11
