The requirement to pay a deposit for the key code was communicated to you.
You just didn't read it.
They told me AFTER I had made the booking. It wasn't mentioned in agoda booking page. Held to ransom meaning "pay 300 or lose your booking with no refund"
Can you provide proof of the unreadable address?
Or was it that you couldn't understand the address?
You said you booked room 3 instead of 5 and immediately afterwards said 'Held to ransom'.
What was the difference between the 2 rooms?
It sounds suspicious that the management company said they don't deal with Agoda but had your booking.Address provided. I've left off the city and postode.Appartement n°3 8 Avenue du 10'By ransom I meant paying a deposit, not the appartment number. Both Agoda and the management company blame each other for not mentioning the deposit, or the scrambled address. Neither have said it was mentioned.Neither is taking responsibility.Yes strange they said they don't deal agoda. that's when I thought I was being scammed.

People aren't expected to need to know the ins and outs of international character standards but should be conscious that symbols may not always appear as intended, especially when language translation is involved, although in this case it wouldn't appear to be French-specific characters as such (such as letters with accents, etc).1 -
Resolution.1. Someone to take responsiblity for the deposit omission and the address. Both Agoda and the management company blame each other.2. An appogy from them and a reasurance that this won't happen to other people.3. More than 10euro for the stress of dealing with trying to find that real address, finding out I had to pay a deposit which I wasn't previouly told about, concerned that I was being scammed and worrying for 3 days that I had lost 200euro which I wouldn't get back.It was a stressful couple of days.0

I would let this go if I were you as you are increasing your stress levels anyway.
It doesn't matter who was at fault, it wont make any difference to your outcome.
Any reassurance that it will never happen again to anyone else would be pointless as mistakes and faults will always happen and the chances that either company giving some 'fake' reassurance will not change that.
There is no such thing as compensation for stress. What one person would find very stressful another may laugh off.
Dont put yourself through it for nothing.1 -
It would be the property owner or management company that loads the copy and description. If the deposit was missing from the description then that is on the owner, not Agoda.
Are you sure you just did not miss the deposit information in the listing? You have not mentioned the property so we can’t check.
Not checking your spam/junk folder for their follow-up email was down to you.0 -
Address I was given -Appartement n°3 8 Avenue du 10'I have not included the city and postcode.

Neither Agoda nor the management company have stated that the information about the deposit was there before I booked. They blame each other for the lack of information

Resolution1. Either Agoda or the management company take responsibility for the address and the missing information about the deposit.2. I am given a formal apology for what went wrong and make sure this does not happen to others3. Compensation for -a. Wasting time trying to find the address - over an hourb. trying to get the key code and being told I need to pay 300eu to get it or loose my booking (and the cost of the booking) another hourc. I was being asked for a deposit which I wasn't told about before I bookedd. Scared I was being scammede. Fear I would not get my deposit back.0

I think you're flogging a dead horse.
I really do.1
