Met patking ticket at McDonalds walking away from site

Hello all,

A driver I know has been another victim of Met Parking Services at a McDonalds.  He has received about ten photos that clearly show he entered the site, parked his car, walked off site, came back (7 mins later) got in his car and drove off.  Can he still appeal against the fine? If so please write a reply on behalf, he has gone through the forum and gets confused which areas of POPLA and FofA are applicable. Thanks in advance. There has been no correspondence from the Ntk as of yet.

People will not write an appeal for you.
That is not what this forum is about.

Photos of him? First time I hear that! They usually just give photos of the empty car... Are the photos from the parking attendant or from CCTV?

Does MET have the right to take photos of people like that? Also, does the photo when he arrives inside the car clearly show his face? If not, how can they say he is the driver when leaving the site?

IN ANYWAY, he can appeal or just wait for claim as many suggest here. Boundaries of the site were not defined for sure so anyway he should not pay this INVOICE (not a fine!).

I see, I didn't know that - it didn't see such case on the forum for example or I didn't search deep enough.

It's this sort of behaviour that the PPCs use to justify their existence as it is a clear abuse of the car park.  McDonalds will argue that this takes spaces away from their paying customers. I would recommend that the driver parks elsewhere in future.

That doesn't mean they should pay of course.  :)

The keeper needs to make the usual appeal and follow the process through to a claim which will likely be discontinued if defended.
