Travel Insurance for Long Trip to South Africa

Hi there
I am going to South Africa for an extended trip (longer than 3 months) and I need to urgently arrange travel insurance. I have got some fairly decent (although expensive) quotes from Staysure, Post Office and Avanti. Any others to look at?
And does anyone have experience of actually claiming? I know the companies are all really good about signing you up, but I really don't want to get stuck with a crisis (e.g. medical) and not have support when it comes to paying out.
