Who are you considering "credit card companies"?th081 said:The law needs to be made tighter so that these credit card company's check before allowing some random party to use their payment system.
If I signing up for PayPal, Worldpay etc neither the card networks nor card issuers have any say as to if I can accept payments0 -

You only get one chance at a chargeback & it's been rejected.BecBond said:Hi,
As American Express have asked me to contact the seller I have done so quoting the breach of contract due to goods not received. If not response within 24hrs I will get back in touch with American Express to provide the proof and take it from there. Thanks for your help I will update you.Life in the slow lane0 -

CC co's have zero to do with companies using the visa/mastercard or Amex systems.th081 said:The law needs to be made tighter so that these credit card company's check before allowing some random party to use their payment system.
Only retailers merchant bank can check them (If they have one) As now with all the new 3rd party payment providers (sumup etc) there is less checks. Even as a individual you can get a terminal & take payments with no checks at all..
Far more sense for the likes of Shopify to run checks on sites being set up. As they are by far the biggest co that you see these sites on.
Just wait till Christmas & they all spring up again.
Rule of thumb, if it's on Social Media. Avoid like the plague.Life in the slow lane2 -

Always do due diligence I agree! I got into Runderwear gear from socials, they are a legit company and do good products (perhaps crucially the prices are not too good to be true) but I checked plenty before ordering anything from them, one of the few it seems!born_again said:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Always search off socials to make sure that you are going to legit retailer, not click through on socials. So you do not end up on one just saying they are XXX.👍Nasqueron said:

I think American Express could do a better job, but looking at what you posted, there seemed to be a discrepancy in the summary that you posted here. Please correct me if I misunderstand this. You opened a claim for goods not received. They investigated and they provided proof of shipment, you then at the point admitted you did get a pair of shoes although not what you ordered and rest of items missing. Was this point about the shoes declared by you when the request was made?0

OP suggests the non-receipt claim was started before the shoes arrived:Chrysalis said:I think American Express could do a better job, but looking at what you posted, there seemed to be a discrepancy in the summary that you posted here. Please correct me if I misunderstand this. You opened a claim for goods not received. I explained to American Express what happened and I had to send evidence, so I sent the order and pictures of the website now closed down and giving security warnings and they initially refunded me and then after a few weeks took it back saying that I do not have enough evidence. In between all this time I received 1 pair of shoes of terrible quality and no means of returning them and being very carful not wanting to engage too much with a what could be scammers.0
