Electric for heating and water

We are looking at purchasing a house with electric heating only (plus wood burner)
We have sourced some new electric rads but is there anyone that can recommend the best & most cost efficient for heating water.
Currently it has an immersion tank (not sure how old)
We only plan to use the property 6 months of the year for the next 10 years or so and then maybe home longer.

Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

Most efficient way to heat water probably a heat pump. Most cost effective, depending on how much and what tariff you are on would probably be Immersion overnight on a good E7 or time of use tariff (though watch out for the increased day rates cancelling out the savings on the off peak rate.
EV tariffs can be useful for this.1 -
Immersion tank would be the normal way.
If it is an old copper one with lagging around it, you would probably be better replacing it with a steel one with integrated insulation.
If it is one of the latter, then a newer one will probably be better insulated than an old one, but not by that much and would not be worth replacing, even if it is 20 years old.2 -
