Energy comparison not finding my property

I have just bought a property that used to be a business rental, paying business rates.
The property isnt on council tax address lists so im applying to get this added.

I have the same problem with comparison sites trying to do Utility switch, the property does not populate for the postcode. What do I need to do to resolve this, its clearly linked with the property being ran as a business as such.

Impossible to switch my Energy to the best tariff via MSE as it doesnt see my house number and you cant edit.

Unfortunately until the Valuation Office Agency change the rating list deleting the ndr entry and arrange to enter the property as a domestic one on the valuation list then you are stuck. Even then there may be a delay in other companies seeing the change. I would ensure it is named and numbered correctly with councils planning department if it is simply known by its business name. So if it doesn't have a number at present they will assign it one. This would mean it then appears on official data bases used by all types of organisations including credit agencies utility companies and the like.that may help you.

There are numerous threads on the forum where people have found out that they have domestic properties (or as in your case want to convert to domestic) but are on Commercial/Business Tariffs -  all have a sorry story to tell.

Do you know if the property is out of contract ?   What does your solicitor say ?

My advice is to talk to suppliers who do both Domestic and Commercial/Tariffs and take out a contract with them and swop internally to Domestic with them.
