Just got my egg money card today, all activated and ready to go. This is a really cool card, I should have had one years ago.
Anyway just waiting on the capital one card (due any day now) then its time to let the stoozing to begin.

Please help, I think my Capital One card will be arriving any day now. After I have tripple checked the card has no BT fees, I was thinking of doing the Super Egg Money transfer on activation, full credit limit minus £100. Does this sound okay?

Capital One will let you know how much you can transfer. Other than that, it looks OK.

Are you OK with the Egg Money SBT?

Just a short story (rant) involving Egg Money. I required £1000 last week to round up a certain account. I phoned Egg (Sunday) to get the time scale of this transfer. Yes, no trouble was their reply, it will transfer to your current account in 7/10 working days. I said NO THANKS, walked 5 minutes to Lloyds TTB and drew out £500 (no fee), Monday did same again then walked to Post Office and deposited £1000 in my Alliance & Leicester current account. It was credited and available Monday morning. It is high time these finacial institutions drove down the time required to transfer your money.
    Rant over,

    John

That's the 'official line' John. In practice, and in my experience, the transfer takes the BACS standard 3 days if actioned early enough on the first day, ie action Monday AM/arrive Wednesday.

Same day transfers are supposed to be with us by the end of May 2008 (then again, they were supposed to be with us by the end of November 2007 so don't hold your breath!).

Hi YB (again), I'm aware of all your points I just find it ludicrous that walking is quicker.

I agree. In fact, I do a lot of my banking* the same way on (or around, depending on when Saturday falls) the first of the month.

    * A&L Prem Direct account funding, and several regular savers.

Still waiting on the transfer maybe Friday. Here's hoping

Can I do an online transfer from egg to my offset mortgage account (IF) or do I need to ring egg?
