UC 16/Education

Hi

A person who turned 16 in April  gets PIP care and mobility higher rate also has a ESA credits only claim and has been put in the support group.
currently home educated due to complex needs. Parents receive child benefit for her

what I want to ask is that can she claim UC at her age?

Does the education have to stop to claim UC she is over the legal compulsory school age but she does have a EHCP ?

will the child benefit stop?

thank you

I am the appointee for my child. When doing the UC application is it my email and phone number I enter?

How do I introduce my self to UC and tell them that my child has already established the support group and no sicknotes are required?

    Thanks

As you will be managing your child's claim, yes you put in your contact details.

After applying for UC you will have access to child's online UC account known as the Journal.

You can add a Journal stating "Hi I am X appointee for Y. Y currently has an active New Style ESA claim and has been placed into the Support Group. Therefore I expect once this has been confirmed for Y to be awarded LCWRA element automatically"

Thank you so much. Will the extra payment for being in the support group be given from the 1st payment or will there be a wait?

It should be in the first payment, but sometimes gets delayed.

There is advice here on what to do if it's missing from the first statement.
