MET PCN Stanmore

marketnews

Hi Everyone, this is my first post and i hope i can receive help with MET PCN, received at Macdonald store in Stanmore, London. I replied online, challenging the PCN as no adequate signs, and I was rejected. I did not take responsibility for the alleged offence, I went back to see the signage post on site. There was no sign as yo turn into the drive, I did see signs on the wooden wall to the left in which you cannot see from inside of the car as they are higher up. i seems to be stocked for ideas on how to challenge the PCN further, the letter indicates that i can pay £60 before 14 period expires or £100. any help to challenge the PCN is welcome
many thanks

No offence was committed, but a possible alleged breach of the parking contract on that private property
Presumably MET gave you a popla code ?1 -
You should not have posted the code, yes or no was sufficient ( I asked if they gave you a popla code, I didn't ask what it was
So as you have a popla code, appeal to popla, after studying post 3 in the newbies sticky thread in announcements3 -
Bear in mind I don't fancy your chances. If Popla rule against signage (which their paymasters claim to have audited) it causes real problems at that site because it'll cost a lot to re-sign it all.
So they don't often find against signage, especially when the parking company will just provide a lovely clean proof of what they sent to the printers. It's a kangaroo court.
Easier to ignore and just defend the DCB Legal county court claim, which they'll discontinue.
But don't pay for Pete's sake. And certainly don't fall for the £60 mug's discount. Why pay when the signs are crap? Most signage is like that because it's designed to be that way. How would they make money if the signs were so clear they couldn't ticket anybody?2 -
You'll never have to pay this. Just Ignore DRA letters. Tell them if you move house of course.
Still unsure that we are right?
Just click on the little red 'MSE link' in the small 'Parking Ticket Appeals' banner at the top of this page which leads to the MSE Guide to fight PCNs.
Same info is shown in both this forum and in that Guide, as regards the debt recovery letters being a futile stage and risk-free. Consistent advice here is easy to find and not just from random strangers. The MSE Guide is official 'Martin Lewis backed' advice.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
