Hello, and thanks in advance for any assistance I receive.
A few weeks ago I was leaving a station car park, I was not aware that the carpark or the access road was private land. Due to recent road changes I was using google maps on my mobile phone to guide me out of the area and had entered my destination and started guidance before I left the parking bay. I had also attached my phone to the dashboard using a regular bracket.
Once I cleared the carpark barrier and turned onto the access road, my mobile fell from the bracket into the driver's footwell. The road was quiet, so I quickly pulled over, retrieved the phone from the footwell and reset it firmly on the bracket. I think I had to unlock the phone and check it was still in guidance mode. I then proceeded down the road following the guidance from Google Maps. I was stationary for no more than 60 seconds max, and no doors were opened if this makes any difference.
I have now received a PoFA with the reason for the issue "No Stopping" and a fine of £60. Which I find unfair. The access road led directly onto a busy (and complicated) inner city road system that I was unfamiliar with and was depending on guidance from my phone. It would have been dangerous to continue with the phone in my footwell, as it could have interfered with the pedals or maybe some other controls of the vehicle. It would also be innapropriate, dangerous and probably illegal to recover the phone whilst moving. I'm not sure if there were signs, but I certainly didn't see them.
Can anyone please give me any guidance on how to challenge this?

There's no such thing as "a POFA".
You mean you got a parking invoice.
Who from?
Surely it's actually a non-POFA one? You'll easily know the difference from looking at the pictures in my NTK pictures thread, so please don't show us!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for replying @Coupon-mad the letter is titled Notice to Keeper (Postal - PoFA) Issued on private land.
It's from a company called UKCPS Ltd. It refers to a parking charge

Right, so it's only useless UKCPS! Search the forum and learn from all the others. To see how they pan out, you can also search for

Thanks for this @Coupon-mad it really helpful. I didnt realise how much information there was or how bigger scam this is.
For info I've tried to go to the ukcps.com/submit-appeal/ site to log your standard response and I get a failure saying forbidden.
If I have no ability to log my appeal, do I just ignore the letter?0 -
