I am executor of an estate of a friend who recently passed away. Her husband passed away in Nov 2021 and left everything to her, his spouse. (property and money). Her estate is worth about £600K. The online IHT checker is saying there is no IHT to pay. However, do I still need to complete at IHT 402 to transfer her husband's IHT allowance to her? and also a IHT205 to declare no IHT due?

You only need to apply for probate if the estate is under £650k. Question 7.4 on the probate application asks if you are claiming the unused NRB and that is all you need.
IHT 205 is now obsolete and only has to be filled in for deaths that occurred prior to Jan 2022.0
