How to mass-delete gmails?

I have over twelve thousand emails going back to 2019 under 'promotions', and in a gmail account that keeps warning me I'm aboot to run out of space.
My index fingertip is worn out from deleting 50 - a page's worth - at a time. How do I mass-delete, please?

To delete more than one page of emails in Gmail, first select the checkbox at the top left of your inbox to choose all emails on the current page. Then, click the link that appears above the list of emails "Select all conversations in [folder]" to include all emails in that folder, and finally click the trash can icon to delete them all.2

Over 50k of Gmails here, and it's not even my main email account.
Much easier to just keep giving Google more money to up the storage than doing any kind of responsible housekeeping.0 -
Tee-hee. My account allowance just dropped from over 80% full to 50%. I'm happy.0

Emails are generally fairly small, and it's the ones with attachments that cause the issue. You can filter all your emails by size using a search like "larger:1M" for emails larger the 1MB or 500KB using "larger:500K".
Also worth checking if you have anything in Google Drive as the storage is shared across all your services - you can see where it's being used here one.google.com/u/0/storage6 -
I have mine run through MS Outlook so just sort by whatever & then delete. Size, sender, date.1

Good point regarding emails with large attachments ( usually pdfs in my case).
However the biggest culprit in my case is the auto upload of mobile phone photos and screen shots to Google photo app. This uses over half my 15gb allowance, so have to regularly delete photos in that app to stay within reach of 80% storage capacity.0 -

I had exactly the same issue, with my darling wife running out of space in her Gmail account, mainly due to a huge number of promotion emails. I put more or less your query into google, and it gave exactly the same answer as Buttercheese, but it only took a couple of seconds. Less sociable, but much quicker. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -
